In about 1000B.C., the Proto-Celts dominated most of Continental Europe. 700B.C. saw them enter the world stage with a clatter and bang that has, even now, only subsided to a dull roar. Defeating the Roman army, they camped on the grounds of the Forum for seven months before moving on to other conquests. Later, crossing into the present-day British Isles, they again became a thorn in the side of Mighty Rome as they laughed at Hadrians Wall - designed to keep the Picts and Celts of the north country in - it also served to help keep the Romans out.
Their belief in the "Otherworld" and the landsof the "Ever Young" fostered tales of many fabulous and mythical beingsand creatures, sometimes bearing uncanny resemblance to those of otherlands, along with unmistakably Celtic heroic figures. Join us while weexplore just a bit of the culture, laws, works and beliefs of these ancestorsof the present-day Scots, Irish, Welsh and Breton people.
